Hello guys... how is everyone doing?? So the AMVCA awards finally happened, and it was really exciting and a lot of deserving people won awards but its not over yet , No it's not, it is time for us to give our own awards, lol.
So why don't we go right in and start with the best dressed. Genevieve Nnaji she was such a vision of perfection last night in a mustard floor-length custom dress by Elvira Jude. The dress, which featured off shoulder straps, was accessorized with pink jewelry from Seraphina’s Gem and a pink box clutch. She looked every bit a star she was styled by Veronica Odeka can we just give Veronica some credits here because Genevieve was the queen last night, she was giving us classy but subtle, edgy diva with a taste for elegance and style.
When she walked out on stage we couldn't stop shouting, her hair and make up was flawless. This is why we love Genevieve, this is why she still wears the crown and this is fashion. YASS YASS ... we love it
"Best Dressed (Male category)"
IK Ogbonna Now lets talk about the best dressed man he is non other than top super model/ actor Ik ogbonna who was a nominee for best actor in a drama,he didn't win but he sure won our hearts in this amazing monochromatic polka dots tuxedo with white lapels by Jason Porshe, he styled his look with classic black and white with just a tiny pop of color with the red lapel pin, Omg like where do we start? ?
The perfect fitting, the shades, the shoes everything on fleek honey!!.. this man sure knows how to work a blazer, love the big bow tie. When he came on the red carpet and interviewed with Uti and Eku he and his fiancée both looked so amazing even with her baby bump his fiancée looked so much better than a whole lot of flat bellied ladies on that carpet, she was also rocking the thigh high slit trend and a plunging neckline that was adorned with a beautiful statement neck piece. They both looked so captivating and complimented each other amazingly well, so there you have it guys The Best Dressed Man
"couple That Slays Together"
Osas Ighodaro and Gbenro Ajibade were the best looking couple on the red carpet.
Osas turned heads in this gorgeous red number by BadgleyMischka , she was styled by the talented @s_b_youme, who selected some gorgeous gold accessories including the jimmychoo clutch she's holding. Her hair and makeup was done by the fabulous @buchiakpati. She looks incredible, that side swept hair , her pose its nothing short of perfection, we love your outfit Osas, she stuck to her true style, she kept to her lane thats why she doesn't get it wrong so often and boy did she knock this look out of the park! This is what a celebrity looks like , this is how you dress when you're coming to the AMVCA!!! ...........
Best accessory of the night was the ever so dashing, Gbenro Ajibade, he walked side by side with osas in a black suit and pants, the best part of his outfit is the red lapel pin to match osas red dress, however, after looking at some more photos , his pants wasn't tailored properly, it was a bit too long, but these things can be tricky. Overall , he looks amazing! Gorgeous couple.
Another couple we loved on the red carpet at the AMVCA, are the -Dakolo's. However we didn't like that Timi's outfit didn't compliment his wife's own but we loved his agbada still, he usually wears tux on occasions like this, we love that he switched things up this year, he definitely looks 'take away'.
But, his wife Busola stole the spotlight in this gorgeous Fouard sarkis dress, it features gold embellishments, an off shoulder and sweet heart neckline with a mermaid inspired finishing, Everything was on point, flawless skin tone, fabulous make up and hair do, she is truly a sight for sore eyes, but there's one more thing though, the gown is rumpled, one huge detail some stars missed at this award, we hope she gets it right next time. BBA finalist Tayo Faniran and model/business manager Tarmar Awobotu , they both lit up the red carpet in their gorgeous white numbers .
Tayo looked dapper in a white tux and white shirt, toned the look down with black shoes, he definitely looks good in a suit.
Tarmar just stole our hearts away in this beautiful white, mermaid inspired gown with an embellished white cape and a little train. Definitely one of our favorite looks of the night. She looks amazing!! Loved the hair do and her make up was just the right amount, she sums up the word elegance and sophistication in this beautiful dress.
We have tv personality Stephanie Coker at the nominess cocktail party wearing a white jumper, a V shaped neckline that shows off her cleavage with a short cape that covers her shoulders and back by frankie &co , she accesorized with a gold and silver bracelet on one hand a ring on the other and a white purse.
Next she was beautiful and flawless in white also in Frankie&co exclusive to @greyvelvetfashionretail at the #AMVCA2015 , we love the plunging neckline of the floor length dress with tiny cross straps, its slightly A shaped from her waist down with a thigh high slit and features an open back with multiple cross straps and completed her look with sandal heels. Her hair pulled back and her gorgeous makeup with bright pink lipstick was on fleek. She is always so stylish.
Omg!! Folu Storms...Girl!! Is that you??.. We are absolutely stunned, she looks incredibly beautiful and lady like very far off her tom boyish outfits and she even traded her signature dread locks for some Short loose wavy curls ,love the open back and her simple accesory of the black and gold clutch.
See this what we are talking about , a major event such as the AMVCA awards (the Oscars) of Nigeria is not a place to come and play around with your fashion choices and try out messy looks, you ought to come looking like you know what you're doing, looking polished and as a woman ,glamour is the way to go ,which is what her amazing stylist Ngozi Zed Eye did for her.
She put her in an all white glow in the dark detailed lace dress by Ejiro Amostafiri paired with vintage earrings from Zoyas Jewels , she looks so different we appreciate that she completely glammed up for the AMVCA awards she looks stylish and we love it.
So keeping up with the #WhiteOut trend is tv presenter and media personality Sharon Ojong wearing a long flowy dress by Marvee , it featured a little V shaped plunge at the neckline with tiny embellished straps that go cross way at her neckline and go all the way leading to the open back of the dress, the form fitting dress was mermaid inspired the embellishment continued at her waist and spread sideways to her hips and thighs and the long fix tail train becomes red, brings about this beautiful pattern that almost makes you feel like she stepped into the red carpet and the dress got stained lol. Her simple choice of accessory was a pandora bracelet and white dangling earrings.
Her body looks perfect in that dress and she credits as one of the benefits of hitting the gym and not eating late, take note ladies also can we just talk about her very pretty smile that compliments her gorgeous hair and makeup, in the last photo with the black and white effect, she looks so glamorous and retro its so cool.
So the fabulous Toke Makinwa wasn't left out of the #WhiteOut trend on the AMVCA red carpet , she was wearing this Sherri Hill dress and styled by harvellastyles the dress which also featured one of the hottest trends of the night, the " Thigh High Slit "
The top of the dress was very form fitting and from the waist down it was this floor length flowy perfection with a long train, we wish the nude illusion layer that covered up her cleavage and chests was kind of altered a little and taken out , it wasn't her skin tone , there is no need for the cover up infact not much would have been seen and then she wore the 'wrongest' shoes for that dress. ..
Pumps weren't the way to go honey like absolutely not!! strap heels would have worked better. the pumps totally changed the vibe and we are just thankful it's black kind of saved it a little we 100 percent feel like she was trying to recreate the famous Angelina Jolie thigh high slit moment complete with the pumps it did work for Angie sadly not for Toke's dress, aside that she was such a glowy beauty with the perfect hair as for her makeup the contour on her nose was slightly too wide and noticeable, instead of giving the illusion of a slimmer nose which is what contouring a nose does in the first place but it ended up making her nose look wider when she smiled but all in all she looked amazing.
And to bring us to the #WhiteOut segment we have Mercy Johnson who had two outfit changes at the AMVCA awards , This was her first look before changing into the red dress, her dress by Ejiro Amostafiri features a slightly off shoulder and a wide neckline that gives a little cleavage peak-a-boo, a thigh high slit the three quarter hands are sheer. She accessorized with silver earrings, bracelet, a ring and clutch her look was completed with a pair of red ankle strap heels she looked very beautiful but honestly her thighs don't look so good showing through the slit it just wasn't flattering for her body, she looks gorgeous still and we love the extra effort she put in to wearing two different looks.
Next we have Kehinde Bankole. She wore this beautiful body hugging open back dress that features a one sided shoulder cape that goes all the way down with a knee slit and an irregular V shaped neckline design that was an extension of the patterns on the dress, she complimented her look with silver sandal heels and a simple silver clutch. Her make up was fab , her short hair that was styled in an up do was perfect.
"Sizzling in Red"
Nollywood actress Ini Edo walked the red carpet in a red cape gown by Ralph Lauren, the same red gown Lupita Nyongo wore for the golden globes last year, according to Ini Edo she has always liked this outfit on Lupita and so she wanted to also rock the gown, and well she does look gorgeous in it, she fills out the gown perfectly, however we were not fans of her hairstyle, i think a gorgeous single bun would have worked better or some better looking hair do that we've seen her in , in the past. At this point we couldn't see her makeup well, cos she was sweating , which wasn't quite her fault , the red carpet was a little bit disorganised and out of order , also a little bit rowdy and the weather wasn't friendly at all,but after looking at previous photos we saw that her make up was in fact fabulous, just that it had a touch of pink which is wrong seeing that her outfit is red, hopefully next time her makeup artist would use some oil-control makeup products on her , accessories of her outfit wasn't quite there , that purse was hideous, but we can get behind it.
Also like one of our FPN followers pointed out , when you're repeating an outfit someone wore in the past, try to spice things up a bit and add a little flare to it. Overall the gown looks gorgeous on her. It didn't look that bad on her.
singer seyi shay, we are so glad she came looking appropriate, this gown was simple an gorgeous, it had an open back and lace detailing on the sleeves and back. She accessorized with some cool red earrings that silver detailing on them, red, she wasn't trying too hard in this dress, she had on the right amount of makeup and her hair do was short enough for us to see The beauty of her dress. She looks fab! #LessIsMore
Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson, looked stunning in a red floor length gown, which featured a lace bodice and a train , she definitely looked incredible, she styled her outfit with a beautiful selection of silver jewelleries . She definitely looks amazing.
Iyabo Ojo, in a red gown with silver embellishments on the sleeves and across her waist, ok aunty next time give your assistant or someone trustworthy close by to hold your stuff, so we can get a better view of the outfit. Love her silver accessories , she looks gorg.
Tonto Dikeh was ravishing in red as she arrived the red carpet with her friend/ stylist Jeremiah Ogbodo as her date for the night who of cause styled her gorgeous red look.
The dress was designed with gold embellishments that went from her high neckline all the way down to her thighs and stop right above her knees, She styled it with a gold clutch that complimented the gold embellishments on her dress.
She looked beautiful and Jeremiah complimented her perfectly as he also was in red. The only thing we can say that is a slight issue is that the high neckline and long sleeves plus the fish tail shaped tulle from the knee down is all too much cover up if the neckline was slightly dropped or opened up it would have been alot more flattering on her.
"Black Belles"
Ono BelloOno Bello is wearing a long custom made gown by Ida Couture and the fabric is by @temiladeofkwmhule ,it is a black laser cut leatherized tulle with a sheer layer around her decolletage and she paired it with a silver with clutch and accesorized with a black bracelet and long silver earrings , her hair pulled back tight which allowed her face to really show case and she looked really fab.
Toyin lawaniThen there is Toyin Lawani Aka Tiannah Styling she is wearing her own design Elegante by Tiannah Styling ,it is a black velvet gown with long sleeves, a train and an open back and a cut out, a gold embellishment piece is placed next to the right shoulder of the gown.
Honestly the hair should have been styled differently like an up do like she she did in her instagram pictures but sadly dropped it on the red carpet because it's all too clustered with the long side swept hair, the really high neckline and the embellishment all together at the top just didn't do it for us but she looks very beautiful and the dress is way way better than the very very questionable looks she designed for Denrele Edun, Susan Peters and Adunni Ade.
Dolapo OniDolapo Oni is a pretty pretty woman she looks good in almost anything so it's no surprise she looks this classy in this black Elvira Jude dress with a sweetheart neckline and a peplum at the waist and a knee slit that allowed us to see her equally black shoes and she styled her look with a gold clutch, here's the thing Dolapo looks really good as usual but the dark hair and the head to toe black look isn't really completely on fleek. Just a little color like maybe a red lippie would have added a little more flare to the look, and maybe if her shoes were in the same shade of gold like her clutch, but with the all black everything, it's too gothic for the occasion, she looks amazing still.
Temi DollfaceNext it's Singer Temi Dollface wearing her own line AweDacious vintage clothing. It's a fringe dress that she styled with a gold chain belt , a crown, black purse with gold bedazzles designed on it and finally matching gold shoes. She has this very classical vintage looks that she always pulls off beautifully we especially love how she stayed true to her style, she looks simple, effortless yet glamorous. . YASS!!we love it.
Nse Ekpe-Etim
Actress Nse Ekpe Etim looking chic in a black dress by Esosa Stores which was also styled by them, an off the shoulder dropping neckline with a tiny plunge the top also features a scaly looking design and then a wrap skirt with a high slit , thigh high slits were just all over the place that night anyways she paired her look with gold strap heels and a silver clutch she looks very lovely but her hair and the way it was styled with the kind of face she has kind of got her looking older she doesn't have heavy make up on so it definitely isn't the makeup and a little bling bling or jewellery on her neck would have made this look pop a lot more.
Isio Wanogho
Next we have the sizzling Isio Wanagho in a custom designed black gown by by Mai Atafo Inspired, it is a gown with a mermaid inspired silhouette with a train. The top is covered in sequins and the back is sheer like designs mashed up together and the fishtail hem of the gown is covered in tiny crystal stones that instantly gives it this beautiful glitter all around, she looked so much like a princess in that dress..we love this look so much and her body and height made the look even more stunning she was no doubt the best dressed lady in the color "Black"
Makida MokaWe have Model Makida Moka wearing this beautiful hand embellished piece from the rouge collection of designer marvee_ , it's very simple but with a twist of sophistication with the thigh high side slit , her side swept hair, metallic clutch and ankle strap heels, We love it.
Lanre Da Silva Ajayi
Next is designer Extrodinare Lanre Da Silva Ajayi wearing an embellished sheer gown with long sleeves, it had a tanned under layer that had a plunging neckline,she paired her look with a gold clutch.
The look is very reminiscent of Beyoncé's grammy look infact with out the tanned colour layer underneath it's almost a direct replica. You can be sure she designed this dress, it is beautiful and it fits her like a glove and her hair and make up was lovely, that red lip was popping hunnay!!
Sika Osei
First we have Sika Osei who was a red carpet host that night wearing a dress by designer Mo Fari.
She was styled by hyperfashun, the silhouette of the dress is mermaid shape inspired with an off shoulder neckline, it has a Lace bodice and sheer sleeves and this was one of the three amazing looks she rocked that night.
She had beautiful hair and makeup and we appreciate the use of silver earrings to add a little subtle feel to her very dark look head to toe. She looks good.
Sasha P
Next is Rapper Sasha P looking shockingly fabulous in a look styled by @Tochiks.
Her gown features sheer sleeves, a sweetheart neckline and it had a funky flared tulle skirt complimented with a gold clutch and gold pumps. Her hair and makeup took the look to another level of fabulous. She looks really good in this black ensemble.
"Burst Of Colors"
Dakore Akande
Folu Ajayi of House of dabira, she won the zinkata red carpet challenge, with this gorgeous number for nollywood actress Dakore Akande,
This dress is amazing and quite frankly hard to pull off, but dakore pulled it off with such grace and elegance. We love the color block, best combo ever!!! The two piece gown features a purple lace bodice and a long yellow floral tulle skirt, according to Folu Ajayi "i wanted her to feel like royalty, so i knew it had to be dreamy".. and boy was it dreamy, this is what a star should look like. Royal and dreamy.
Her makeup was lovely, her hair was perfect, her smile lit up the red carpet. We love the yellow clutch, the shade it was in ,put together with her gown like that just looks amazing. She was on fire!!! Makeup by the amazing @banksbmpro , her clutch is by @mobosfashion
Lamide Akintobi
Lamide Akintobi looked stunning in a lavender lace dress by @peridotofficial , it had an open back and a cape, absolutely love her short hairstyle, cute and simple. Her makeup was done by @banksbmpro , she looks gorgeous.
Fade Ogunro
Blonde bombshell, Fade Ogunro, opted for a simple overall purple fit and flare dress, it had a plunging neckline covered in sheer, the dress was by @tiffanyamberng , we do love her bob hair and her gold neck piece was gorgeous but we thought she could have done without it.
Ufuoma Mcdermott
Ufuoma mcdermott in a sweet custom made piece by @vickyheldan , the gown features a V neck, a peplum detail and a thigh high slit, gorgeous hair do and makeup , her makeup was done by @jagabeauty. She looks amazing , simple and gorgeous.
Yvonne ekwere in a pink ball gown and cape by Alyce paris, the ball gown had kind of a rose flower design , a sweetheart neckline and an embellished silver stone on the gown , she accessorized with a cute silver strap heels and silver jewelleries, it's a nice outfit and it definitely looks great on her, her hair and makeup was fabulous. But!
It's really reminiscent to what singer Mocheddah wore for the pink ball last year, and seeing vonne in this outfit just seems as if she's at the pink ball and not the Amvca, her stylist should have chosen another outfit entirely though.
Funke Akindele wearing a long blue dress styled by Yolanda Okereke the dress features a small train that drags behind her as she walks, she looked so beautiful when she came on stage to present and even as she walked the red carpet, her hair though was a little too puffy for her size, something smaller and fit could have done the trick.
The embroidery on the dress was very beautiful it began from the front of the dress which dropped down to her crotch area and also went all through the straps of the dress and dropped down to the hem of the dress at the middle. Underneath the embroidery is a nude illusion that goes all the way underneath from the front also to the back now the issue is that dresses with nude illusions are supposed to match your skin tone perfectly , your skin tone blends with the nude illusion material and really gives you that illusion of nudity or else the whole point of it is defeated. This is the second time we are seeing Funke doing this but It is majorly her stylists fault people think that the nude illusion is just there to beautify the dress or create a coverage underneath where as that is not the case but nevertheless Funke still looks great.
Yolanda Okereke
So up on till now it's seemed like only the men wore the mosr colours but .... We have stylist Yolanda Okere wearing a yellow suit paired with a white shirt and black slim tie and finished off white shoes she looks ridiculously cool, it was tailored absolutely nicely and it fits her body well if the tailoring was wrong being that it's a mens wear it would have been awful. Truthfully it's not the best look for this award we would have loved her in a fabulous gown as well but she took a risk and it paid off.
kate Henshaw
Next is Veteran Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw looking so beautiful in this Aso Oke with a gorgeous silhouette, it is designed at the high neckline with embellished ankara that extended all the way to the open V shaped back.
The dress is by designer NeedlePoint and the needle sure was pointed in all the write directions the canary yellow absolutely hit her skin tone well, who would have thought? ? and she went au naturel with her hair which in her words is a way to try and draw the African woman back to their natural roots so all ye!! Brazilian hair users be thou informed lool her makeup by Davesucre was perfection also love the yellow clutch it made the color pop even more.
Lastly we have the latest Nollywood fashion darling who has been banging in one hot dress after the other in recent times Omoni Oboli wearing this flawless creation by Ayo Van Elmar the dress features a yellow and black bodice , from the waist down was black but was covered in yellow patterns her african inspired up-do hair style was fabulous and so was the use of a black clutch. Stylish, sweet, elegant, classy and vibrant, We love it."Lady of Style"
Rita Dominic
the amazing and gorgeous Rita Dominic. ..who was a winner at the AMVCA 2015 but will she be a fashion winner??? you will just have to keep reading to find out lol.
She came looking gorgeous and very classy as usual her hair and makeup was beautiful and simple she wore a gold dress by Lanre DaSilva Ajayi with red patterns on it and accessorized with a gold clutch.
We love her look but can't help but point out that it isn't exactly a dress you wear to an award event as massive as the AMVCA it feels alot more ladies luncheon or movie premiere, she also wore a red custom design Lanre DaSilva dress last year and she looked amazeballs , it was such a stunner that just got our eyes glued to her we couldn't get enough so to fall far behind the hype that the red dress gave her fashion wise wasn't very nice. We couldn't wait to see how much more amazing she would look this year but majorly this blame is on the designer because they have the control over what the dress will turn out looking like even though the person it's being designed for also has a say sometimes they leave it completely in the hands of the designer so we would expect Lanre DaSilva to up her game for such a huge star and not take it down a notch aside that , the dress is fabulous and Rita looks great and is very sweet to have worn Lanre DaSilva twice in a row to the AMVCA awards. #AMVCA2015#FPN#LanreDaSilva#Gold#Nollywood#RitaDominic

"the Tiannah Styling collections"
The firstt amongst the category of "The Tiannah Stylings Collections" is media personality Denrele Edun who was perhaps the most talked about person on the red carpet and #WorstDressed last night as he stepped out in a gold net dress designed for him by Tiannah Styling, he went with a pair of leather pants underneath the dress and he accessorized with a gold mask and a pair of gold boots.
His hair was not left out of his dramatic look as he opted for white braids listen guys we don't get what the buzz is about with this look because he is basically in drag and haven't we all seen drag queens before?? if you haven't you need to watch more American tv or you could check it out online, like we are more worried and disappointed in the fact that he didn't stay true to the Denrele Edun signature look ,it almost feels like he is Confused.com with himself and doesn't know what to do anymore to get our attention so he goes "Yes I know, I will just show up in drag " this is plain silly and to think that it actually has an open back *smh*
First we have Susan Peters Nollywood actress Susan Peters was one of the major persons that got people talking on the red, she is wearing a creation by Toyin Lawani of Tiannahstyling, Susan Peters had on a white lacy dress that was completed with a huge cape that feature ruffles.
For her hair it was packed up in a ponytail and accessorized with a tiara.
Here we were thinking she had began to slowly overcome those voices in her head that clearly always lead her down ward spiral in her choice of fashion looks like this is too overly dramatic, if the cape was a reasonable size and didn't have those ruffles and she lose that tiara this would be an entirely different and cool look.
Next we have another Nollywood actress, Adunni Ade who showed up in this red risqué number that showed off her legs and too much cleavage. The floor-length sheer dress was paired with a red bodysuit and she accessorized with gold sandals and gold earrings. We feel like this is not a bad look, the details on the dress are exquisite and it's silhouette is headed in a good direction but this is a run way look and we mean that in the sense of one of those dresses that you see models strutting the runway in but never actually see normal people wear outside,stuff like these are made just to show off a designers capabilities, this would have been a lot more appropriate for a fashion inclined event like the Music meets Runway event . It would have made more sense as an actress and being on the red carpet of what is arguably the Oscars of Nigeria, you want to look classy, lady like and glamorous and not like an escort sorry boo boo but that is the truth. Clearly she wants to get us(people) talking and we are talking now so I hope you are happy now.

Nollywood veteran actress Eucharia Anunobi, looking hideous in that gown, between the maleficent costume like collars, the flared sleeves and multiple layers on her skirt. But, we all know this is her style and she was standing in her truth, with her claw like nails , horrible hair and hairstyle. Leave it to Eucharia to bring the drama. She looks very much like herself. we do love the fabric of the dress though, if only she would have made a much nicer style out of it.
Bolanle Olukanmi
Bolanle Olukanni, well she doesn't look as horrible as the others, she's wearing a red gown from Trish O couture, amidst the asymmetric hemline and the excessive long train and the design on the dress, this dress was definitely not the best choice for the AMVCA's. lovely hair do though, so effortless.
